London, UK – The legendary legacy of Paul Oakenfold’s pioneering label, Perfecto Records, will be celebrated in style this autumn with the world premiere of “35 Years Of Perfecto Records” at the inaugural edition of the Cine International Film Festival in the heart of Soho, London.
The film, which charts the meteoric rise of one of electronic music’s most influential labels, will screen alongside a dynamic slate of new films, including a major new documentary about John Lennon and Heaven Nightclub. This landmark event marks the first time the story of Perfecto has been told through the voices of those who lived it.
Since its founding in 1989, Perfecto Records has become a global brand synonymous with innovation and excellence in dance music. Under the visionary leadership of Paul Oakenfold, the label has released groundbreaking work from artists such as David Guetta, Tiesto, Carl Cox, Tori Amos, Pharrell Williams, Grace, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Ice Cube, Hernan Cattaneo, Vini Vici, Armin van Buuren, and many more — shaping the sound of modern electronic music across genres like house, trance, techno, drum & bass, and beyond.
From Grace’s chart-topping hit “Not Over Yet” (1995) to the Cream classic “Bullet In The Gun” , Perfecto has consistently delivered anthems that have defined generations of club culture. The documentary features exclusive interviews with industry icons, including Pete Tong, Fatboy Slim, Carl Cox, David Guetta, Armin van Buuren, and Paul Oakenfold himself.
“Paul Oakenfold is a visionary and with Perfecto, he didn’t just start a label, he started a global brand,” said Pete Tong, legendary DJ and broadcaster.

The film also explores how Perfecto transcended music, evolving into a lifestyle brand with global events, streetwear, and a syndicated radio show, while maintaining its roots in the underground rave scene of the late ’80s.
In 2003, Oakenfold was honoured by Queen Elizabeth II with the title of “Pioneer of the Nation” for his contributions to the UK music industry — a recognition rooted in the bold spirit of Perfecto Records.
From pop-up parties on the Great Wall of China to tours with U2 and Madonna, the documentary captures the essence of a label that has remained at the forefront of dance music for over three decades.
“35 Years Of Perfecto Records” is not just a tribute — it’s a testament to the enduring power of creativity, culture, and community.
