All About

Regent Street

Regent Street is one of the most recognisable streets in London, known for its sweeping curve and its long past. It was named after the Prince Regent, later King George IV, and planned in the early 19th century as part of a wider scheme to link key parts of central London. The architect, John Nash, gave it a grand, flowing line that helped set the tone for the city's modern layout.

Today it is a shopping street first and foremost, home to several flagship stores. Liberty is among the most iconic, a department store with a strong identity and a long reputation for quality and design. Apple chose this street for one of its most striking stores too, pulling in tech lovers from all over. Those names shape what Regent Street is: a place where heritage meets modern taste.

It is well connected, with Oxford Circus Station right at the northern end, linking it to the Bakerloo, Central and Victoria lines. That makes it easy to reach from almost anywhere in London. Plenty of public figures have passed through, though none are known for living on the street itself. The focus has always been commerce, architecture and experience, and the businesses here more than live up to it.
