Liberty London
Heritage craft, modern style.
About Liberty London
Liberty London has traded from its timber-framed home on Regent Street since 1924, though the business itself goes back to 1875, when Arthur Lasenby Liberty founded it. The department store mixes its heritage with current design. Floors cover designer fashion, fine jewellery, beauty and homeware, and the renowned Liberty Fabrics room sells prints by the metre. Personal shopping, beauty consultations and gift wrapping are all part of the service, and the building itself, with its wood carvings and small galleries, makes browsing slow and easy in a way that is rare in central London.
In-house fabric specialists, fragrance advisors and jewellery teams explain materials, sizing and care in plain language. The store holds Grade II* listed status, and it works with established designers as well as newer makers. Shoppers find limited collections, accessories and gifts, with staff able to advise on fit, finishing and aftercare. Set close to Carnaby Street and Oxford Circus, it remains a dependable Soho landmark where older craftsmanship and new ideas sit side by side.
