All'Antico Vinaio

Big flavour, fast.

About All'Antico Vinaio

All'Antico Vinaio began in Florence in 1991 and is run by the Mazzanti family. In 2025 it opened its first UK shop in Soho, bringing its schiacciata sandwiches to central London. The format is simple. Order at the bar, watch the team slice, spread and stack, then find a perch or take it away.

Signatures like La Favolosa and La Schiacciata del Boss sit beside city specials, including the La London combination. The bread is baked to a light crackle, the sauces are made for balance, and portions are sized for a full meal. Fillings are matched to texture and heat, from porchetta with potato cream to stracciatella with pistachio.

The shop draws queues, but the counter moves fast and staff explain choices, spice levels and swaps in clear English. Hours run from lunch through evening. It is a confident London debut for a brand that grew from a single Florentine shop into a global name, built on fresh bread, good produce and pace.
