ALTA

The Restaurant that ignites live fire dining

About ALTA

ALTA opened on 22 September 2025 in Soho's Kingly Court, taking the largest site there and spreading service across two floors with a terrace and private dining. The kitchen is led by chef Rob Roy Cameron, whose background takes in El Bulli, 41 Degrees and Gazelle, plus a decade working in Northern Spain. The cooking is built around live fire, using a double wood grill and a Spanish Josper, and pairs Spanish technique with seasonal British produce. It is the second opening from MAD Restaurants, founded by hospitality entrepreneur Artem Login.

Plates run from whole fish and aged beef to vegetables cooked over smoke and ember heat, served as small and large dishes for sharing. The drinks list covers sherry, vermouth and a European-leaning wine selection that leans towards low-intervention makers. Service is relaxed but polished, with an open kitchen and the smell of woodsmoke running through the meal. Bookings cover couples, groups and private dining, managed online, with walk-ins taken when there is space.
