About Lina Stores Greek Street

Lina Stores Greek Street is the sit-down restaurant that grew out of Soho's much-loved Lina Stores delicatessen, which has traded on nearby Brewer Street since 1944. Opened in 2018 with Umbrian chef Masha Rener, it carries the deli's signature pistachio-green and white livery across two floors, with a stainless-steel counter and a basement dining room and aperitivo bar.

The reason to come is the handmade pasta in Soho that made the deli famous, now plated fresh. The pasta is made daily at the original Lina Stores and finished here, the product of decades of practice, and the restaurant became a cult favourite almost the moment it opened. It works equally well for a quick counter lunch, a pre-theatre dinner or an aperitivo downstairs.

Where to find the best handmade pasta in Soho

The menu leans on the classics done properly: a 30-egg-yolk tagliolini with black truffle, butter and Parmigiano; casarecce with prawns and tomato; hand-rolled pici in a porcini and Umbrian sausage sauce; pappardelle with rabbit ragu; and herb gnudi. Antipasti, aperitivi and desserts round it out, all drawing on the deli's larder a few streets away.

The setting and the history

Set over a ground-floor kitchen counter and a cosier basement, the room seats a small crowd, with a twelve-seat bar for walk-ins. It is a natural companion to the original Lina Stores deli on Brewer Street, and sits among Greek Street's Italian kitchens, with more in our Soho restaurants listings. The pistachio branding has since travelled well beyond Soho, but this is where the restaurant story began.

How a visit works

Lina Stores Greek Street opens daily for lunch and dinner, running lunch and evening service Monday to Thursday and straight through from noon to 11pm Friday to Sunday, with last seatings at 10pm. The kitchen counter is walk-in only while tables are booked online, and it is cashless. Current menus and reservations are on its official site, and the opening was reviewed by Hot Dinners.
