Richmond Mews runs off Dean Street in the block behind Richmond Buildings, both named after Thomas Richmond, the carpenter and former wax-chandler who developed this corner of Soho in the early 18th century.
For much of the 20th century the mews was given over to workshops and, latterly, a car park. In 2004 Firmdale opened the Soho Hotel here on the former car park site, a large building that now dominates the turning. The mews also holds loft apartments and a handful of offices, a mix of residential and trade use behind the main street frontages.
