Royalty Mews

Royalty Mews is a small court off Dean Street, towards the southern end near Shaftesbury Avenue. Its name recalls the Royalty Theatre, which once stood on Dean Street nearby.

For many decades the mews held a recording studio used for music, film and television work, in keeping with Soho's long association with the sound and post-production trade. The studio has since gone. In 2017 the site was rebuilt as a small residential development, with apartments arranged around a communal courtyard and a sculptural staircase. A few of the homes are also let as short-stay accommodation.
