La Familia is the two-in-one Mexican venue that took over the old Barrio Soho site on Poland Street, splitting a bright taqueria upstairs from a hidden cocktail discoteca below. Billed as Barrio Shoreditch's cooler, older sister and inspired by the taquerias of Mexico City, it swaps the old party-bar format for a sharper Mexican food-and-drinks offering across two floors.

For a proper taqueria in Soho, the ground floor is the draw: an informal, counter-service dining room serving tacos, quesadillas, elotes and guacamole, washed down with Mexican Coke, Jarritos, agua de Jamaica and margaritas. Downstairs, the discoteca is a Latin-leaning cocktail bar built for later nights, music and a bit of Soho energy.
