Kemp's Court is a small court on the west side of Berwick Street, towards the Peter Street end of the market. Its name goes back to the 1690s, when a nonconformist congregation met at a chapel here recorded in the rate books as Mr Kemp's Chapel; Rocque's map of 1746 marks the building backing onto Hopkins Street.
In the later 20th century Westminster City Council built a large block of flats, offices and shops along this stretch of Berwick Street, running from Peter Street up to Kemp's Court. The court now sits at the edge of Berwick Street Market, with its stalls lining the road close by.
