Orange Yard is a small yard off Manette Street, on the eastern edge of Soho just back from Charing Cross Road and close to Greek Street. Manette Street dates from the 1690s, was originally Rose Street, and was renamed after Dr Manette in Dickens's A Tale of Two Cities; the area carried a radical, anarchist reputation through the Rose Street Club in the 19th century.
From 1985 to 2019 the yard housed The Borderline, a live music venue tied to the Britpop years. After its closure the space reopened as Orange Yard, a club fitted with a Funktion-One sound system, continuing the yard's long association with music.
